Lago Maggiore July 2004
So, finally my update for the weekend we passed at the Lago Maggiore in July. I might have mentionned that there was a big firework-show in Locarno the saturday evening.
We headed off on friday evening and stayed the night at a Bed&Breakfast in Münster in the Valais. The next day, we went over the Nuffenen pass to reach the Tessin. Once arrived at the Lago Maggiore we installed the tent on one of the numerous camping sites in Tenero. Then, we took a ride to Locarno, walking through the city, stopping to have some coffee or ice cream, looking around. Locarno is nice, on the Piazza Grande the were installing the structure for the giant screen of the Locarno Film Festival. Then we went to have a look at Bellinzona, where we walked around a bit. Also nice.
The evening we had dinner in Locarno and then headed to the lakeside to watch the fireworks-show. It was fantastic and lasted for over 30 minutes!
On sunday, we packed the car and had a breakfast stop in Giubasco, then continued over the Nuffenen pass to the Valais, direction home again. On the pass we saw these nice tricycles...
Even though it was a 'normal-length' weekend, i had the feeling that 'ive been away for more than two days, it was like a small holiday.
