Annecy

Is has been a very cold but sunny day today. I've been to Annecy with my parents, where my Dad invited me to a very nice, chic and expensive restaurant for lunch.

The restaurant is situated directly at the lake of Annecy, in a village called Talloires and called L'auberge du Père Bise. We had a wonderfull lunch, i've had semi-cooked tuna filet with asparagus as entry, then a 'gratin d'écrevisses' and for desert a 'déclinaison de chocolat chaud et froid'. Simply d e l i ci o u s !!

I appreciate good food, and i also like what we call 'gastronomic food', in France they are very talented for creating fine dishes, nicely decorating on the plate, don't forget: the eye also eats!

But before lunch we had a little walk in the old town center of Annecy, which is full of nice little shops. Today there was a antic market in the streets, too, we call it 'brocante' in french. Unfortunately, these days the 'brocante' have become quite expensive, difficult to get a good deal.

I highly recommend to all of you, who might pass in the french department of Haute Savoie, to spend a little time at Annecy. The old town center is most beautifull with nice and original shops, you can relax along the lake side, where there are big parks. And there are a lots of good restaurants and cafés around. Also admire the wonderfull view on the mountains surrounding teh lake of Annecy.

It has been a nice day, i'm glad we were so lucky with the weather and happy about the excellent lunch we had in this exceptional location !
